What is Omeprazole?
Omeprazole belongs to a class of medication called ‘Proton Pump Inhibitors’ and works to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. This helps in the treatment of Reflux, which is a condition that causes the contents of the stomach to wash back up into the oesophagus and cause irritation in young children, this typically occurs after feeding. By reducing the stomach’s acid production, it eases the burning and discomfort caused by the reflux and helps protect the lining of the stomach and oesophagus.
